Project Inspire promotes projects that empower disadvantaged women and girls in the Asia/Pacific region, the Middle East, and Africa. The focus in 2015 is design or technology. Past projects in Project Inspire have included examples in livestock raising, bee keeping, solar lamps, and renewable energy (among others). Twenty semi-finalists will be invited to compete in Singapore for the grand prize of US$25 thousand; the runner-up will receive US$10 thousand.
